Wi-Fi (pronounced /ˈwaɪfaɪ/) is a trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance. It is not a technical term. However, the Alliance has generally enforced its use to describe only a narrow range of connectivity technologies including wireless local area network (WLAN) based on the IEEE 802.11 standards, device to device connectivity [such as Wi-Fi Peer to Peer AKA Wi-Fi Direct], and a range of technologies that support PAN, LAN and even WAN connections. Derivative terms, such as Super Wi-Fi, coined by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to describe proposed networking in the former UHF TV band in the US, may or may not be sanctioned by the Alliance. As of November 2010 this was very unclear.

a wifi not onli used as a internet access only, it can receive or send tv broadcast or even cctv. i am not going to promote wifi to you guys, but i gonna tech or tell you a trick on wifi modem which you can onli use a phone camera and a wifi modem as a cctv device. it only works on nokia or sony ericsson only with symbian s60 os devices. first, download this and install on both your computer & phone, got instruction in the files:

if you notice my wifi named, 'white house zone', the name are given to my modem based on the white house model located next to my laptop ^^ and this is the pic of it:
and on your phone open the 'web cam 3' at the same time on your computer open the files 'mibola webcam' and your computer from phone using wifi, use, bluetooth. and you're now connect!! i may act as cctv because it is wireless and the coverage range depends on your wifi modem signal, like mine , can receive up to 20 meters. and those picture below are the example of cctv i discover ^^:

nice leh, soon i will tech you how to listen people's conversation in other rooms within 11 meter range by using onli a nokia symbian phone and a headset, lock yourself in a room and relax while listening on what they said or gossip about you, record it and scare them ^^
